> Hapio is a headless, white-label scheduling and booking API. It provides resources, services, locations, schedules, bookable slots, bookings, and booking groups as REST/JSON primitives, so developers can build fully custom booking and scheduling experiences on any tech stack — without building the scheduling engine themselves.

Hapio is not a booking app or a pre-built UI. It is infrastructure: a serverless RESTful API that developers integrate behind their own brand and interface. If your stack can speak JSON, it can speak with Hapio.

## Core concepts

- **Projects** — isolated workspaces in the developer portal; each has its own API tokens, webhooks, and data.
- **Locations** — physical or virtual places where services are delivered, each with its own time zone.
- **Resources** — what gets booked (staff, rooms, equipment, vehicles, etc.), each wit h a limit on simultaneous bookings.
- **Services** — what can be booked, in three types: fixed-length (e.g. a 30-minute massage), flexible-length (e.g. a conference room booked in 15-minute increments), or day-based (e.g. a bed-and-breakfast stay).
- **Schedules** — recurring schedules or one-off schedule blocks that define when a resource is available at a location.
- **Bookable slots** — computed openings, derived from a resource's schedule and existing bookings, that end users select from.
- **Bookings & booking groups** — individual reservations, or multiple related reservations (e.g. a court plus a coach) created and managed together.
- **Webhooks** — HMAC-SHA256-signed event notifications for booking, resource, service, and schedule changes.
